Week 3 Girls Cross Country Rankings

Mill Creek is the new No. 1 in the Class AAAAAA after winning the Berry College Clara Bowl Invitational with a time of 19:36. No. 6 West Forsyth makes it debut after winning the Spikes and Spurs Class in Bunnell, Florida less than two weeks ago with a time of 20:35. Harrison returns to the rankings at No. 10 after placing fifth at the Berry College event with a time of 20:35.

There are no new faces in the Class AAAAA rankings this week, but there is a new No. 1 team. Union Grove takes the honors after placing third and running an average time of 20:17 at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill Panther XC Meet. They beat out ranked-5A competitors Starr’s Mill and Northgate.

North Hall enters the Class AAAA rankings at No. 5 after running a 22:07 at the Berry College event over the weekend. Whitewater returns to the rankings coming in at No. 7 fresh off of a 22:16 average time at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill XC Meet.

Three new members make their debut in the Class AAA rankings. Rockmart catapults to No. 6 after running a 25:16 at the Berry College event finishing ahead of newly ranked No. 7 Oconee County who finished with a time of 25:25. Islands High School breaks into the top ten at No. 8 after an average time of 25:31 at their last event.

The top eight stayed the same in this week’s Class AA rankings, adding only two new members to the top ten. Union County comes from out of the rankings to No. 9 after 24:06 showing at the 12th War Eagle Invitational on September 1st. Newly-ranked No. 10 Rabun County finished just behind Union with a time of 24:25 at the same event.

Mt. Paran Christian is the only new face in the Class 1A-Private rankings coming in at No. 10. The Eagles finished third at the 4th Annual at&t Starr’s Mill Panther XC Meet with a time of 23:53. Landmark Christian remains No. 1 after an impressive performance at the same event. They finished second overall in the championship girl’s race, although ended with the top average time at the meet (19:47). Nicole Fegans won the individual race for Landmark Christian with a time of 18:15, and the team finished with three of the top four runners.

There was no change in the Class A-Public rankings this week.
