Week 4 Softball rankings, Newnan looks to challenge East Coweta

The state’s highest classification is led again by East Coweta with a new No. 2, Newnan, challenging. Parkview, previously No. 2, fell to third with Lowndes (No. 4) and Lassiter (No. 5) finishing the Top 5. Peachtree Ridge moved into the Top 10 at No. 7 after Forsyth Central fell to No. 8.

Creekview is still in the driver’s seat of Class AAAAAA with Effingham County moving into second after River Ridge fell to fifth. Evans moved from No. 6 to No. 3 and Mundy’s Mill jumped from No. 7 to No. 4. Alexander slid to No. 7 in front of new No. 8 Alpharetta. Allatoona moves into the rankings at No. 10.

Chamblee will not let go of the Class AAAAA No. 1 spot and Buford is still a close second. Carrollton is in the No. 3 spot again this week. Whitewater moved from No. 7 to No. 4 with Locust Grove at No. 5. 

Northside-Columbus is still the team to beat in Class AAAA. LaFayette moved from third to second as Stephens County fell to No. 4. Northwest Whitfield moved up from No. 7 to third and Ridgeland, previously No. 4, is fifth after Central-Carroll fell to No. 6.

Calhoun holds the No. 1 rank in Class AAA again this week with Appling County, previously No 7, climbing to the No. 2 spot. East Jackson fell from No. 2 to No. 4 after Liberty County slid to the No. 7 spot. Worth is third again this week and Long County holds the No. 5 spot.

In Class AA, Rockmart is No. 1 again this week with Harlem a close second. Screven County moved from No. 5 to No. 3 after Dodge County slid to No. 9. Berrien moved from No. 6 to No. 4 after Monticello fell to fifth.

Glascock County holds the No. 1 ranking in Class A Public with Wilcox County again trailing. Gordon Lee, previously third, fell to No. 10 as Lanier County moved up to No. 3. Bowdon, previously No. 7, moved up to fourth and Seminole County is again in fifth.

Tattnall Square leads Class A Private with Wesleyan in second. Eagle’s Landing Christian is in the No. 3 spot with Calvary Day in at No. 4. Mount de Sales is the fifth-ranked team again this week.
