Week 6 Volleyball Rankings

Walton takes the top spot in the state’s highest classification with wins over five Florida schools in East Lake, Trinity Catholic, Westminster Christian, Lake Highland Prep and Berkeley Prep last week. The Lady Raiders are riding a 24-game win streak into the week. Walton will face Lassiter on Tuesday. Etowah, previously No. 1, fell to second after being overtaken by Walton. North Forsyth is third after falling to Oak Mountain (Ala.) on Saturday. Mill Creek, which lost to Buford on Saturday, fell to No. 4, and Newnan moved up to fifth after wins over Gainesville and Northgate on Saturday. Previously third, Kennesaw Mountain slid to sixth after losses to Blessed Trinity and Mount Paran Christian.

Greenbrier, with just two losses on the season, is riding an 11-game win streak into Week 6 as the top-ranked team in Class AAAAAA. Pope, previously No. 2, slid to No. 6 after a loss to Hillgrove on Saturday in the Rally High Tournament quarterfinals. With Pope’s loss, Allatoona, Harrison and Alpharetta move to No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Johns Creek moved from No. 8 to fifth and Pope settles at sixth. Lakeside-Evans slid from No. 6 to No. 7. Previous No. 10 Northgate fell to unranked as Sequoyah moved into the Top 10.

Buford is riding a 12-game win streak into Week 6 as it overtakes Loganville for the top team in Class AAAAA. Loganville settles at No. 7. Villa Rica, previously third, fell to sixth following losses to North Cobb Christian and Kennesaw Mountain last week. Riverwood, previously fifth, moved to second after wins over North Atlanta and South Cobb on Thursday. Previously ranked seventh, McIntosh moved into the No. 3 spot after wins over Landmark Christian and Cambridge last week. With wins over Luella and Woodland-Stockbridge last week, Whitewater moved from No. 6 to No. 4. Ola, previously fourth, fell to fifth.

Blessed Trinity is still in control of Class AAAA with Marist a close second. No. 3 Northwest Whitfield is riding a 15-game win streak into Week 5 and holds the No. 3 spot again this week. Northside-Columbus moved from No. 8 into the top five at No. 4 with Woodward Academy moving into the No. 5 spot. LaFayette, previously fifth, fell to seventh. North Oconee, previously fourth, fell to No. 9 after a loss to St. Pius.

North Hall, with wins over West Hall and Johnson-Gainesville last week, moved to No. 1 in Class AAA. Fannin County fell to second. Calhoun is in the third spot with Pace Academy at No. 4. Islands, which is riding a seven-game win-streak, holds the No. 5 spot again this week. Greater Atlanta Christian moved up to sixth with East Hall at No. 7. East Jackson, previously sixth, fell to No. 8 in front of Lovett (No. 9) and Westminster (No. 10).

Coosa (No. 1) and St. Vincent’s (No. 2) continue the season-long battle for the top spot in Class AA. Harlem is in the No. 3 spot and Armuchee, previously fifth, is No. 4. Chattooga, previously No. 10, moved up to No. 5.

Mount Paran moved to the top of Class A after defeating a handful of teams from much higher classifications. The Eagles defeated Pace Academy, Allatoona, Gainesville, Newnan, North Paulding and Kennesaw Mountain last week. Hebron Christian, previously No. 1, fell to second. Calvary Day, previously second, fell to third. Lakeview Academy fell to fourth, and Fellowship Christian entered the rankings at fifth.
