Week 9 boys soccer rankings

In the state’s highest classification, Peachtree Ridge remains perfect with a 15-0-0 record. Last week Peachtree Ridge handled Mountain View 5-0 and North Gwinnett 2-1 to stay on top. Pebblebrook fell from third to fifth as Walton moved up to third. Etowah, with a 5-3 win over South Cobb last week, moved to fourth. Brookwood, previously eighth, moved up to sixth. South Forsyth moved from ninth to seventh as Collins Hill fell to ninth. Grayson enters the top-10 at eighth as Campbell fell to unranked.

Solid play kept the 6A classification basically the same with Dalton in the top-spot with a 15-1-0 record. Dalton is ahead at least three games on every team except third ranked Gainesville, 14-2-0. The biggest move came from previous No. 10 Houston County who moved into the eighth spot as Greenbrier fell to tenth.

In what has been a standard, McIntosh remains the team to beat in Class 5A. The Chiefs, with a 15-1-0 record, are on a 10-game win-streak and have only allowed two goals in those 10 games, both coming on March 30 to crosstown rival Starr’s Mill. Clarkston moves into the No. 2 spot as Riverwood fell to third. Carrollton moved up to fourth as Johnson-Gainesville fell to fifth. Veterans moved up on spot to seventh and Cross Keys moved from tenth to eighth. Whitewater fell to unranked and was replaced at ninth by Rome.

Marist is still on top of the 4A classifications with a 9-3-3 record. St. Pius is in the No. 2 spot again this week. Druid Hills moved up to third as Blessed Trinity fell to fifth. Southeast Whitfield moved from sixth to fourth as Oconee County fell to sixth. Woodward Academy moved up from ninth to seventh as Columbus fell to ninth. Cartersville debuts in the top-10 at eighth as Richmond Academy fell to unranked. Northwest Whitfield rounds out the top-10 at tenth after being eighth last week.

Westminster, with a 12-4-0 record, is still the team to beat in the 3A classification. Dawson County is in the second spot and Greater Atlanta Christian is still third. Pace Academy fell from fourth to sixth as Windsor Forest moved up to fourth. Long County made a jump from tenth to seventh as North Murray fell to eighth. Savannah Arts fell to unranked as Murray County moved into the tenth spot.

In the 2A rankings, things got a bit shaken this week. Benedictine is still the team to beat but other than that, things got jumbled. Harlem moved from fourth to second as Fitzgerald fell to third. Jefferson County moved from fifth to fourth as Putnam County fell to fifth. Coosa moved up from eighth to sixth as Pepperell fell to seventh. Thomasville fell from seventh to unranked. Toombs County moved to eighth from tenth Vidalia moves into the rankings at ninth and Model is tenth as Gordon Central fell to unranked.

Walker remains in the driver’s seat of the 1A class with a 14-2-0 record. The top-5 stayed the same but a few changes occurred in the bottom half of the rankings. Hebron Christian moved from eighth to seventh. Brookstone moved from ninth to eighth. Fellowship Christian fell from seventh to tenth as Mt. De Sales fell out of the rankings. Riverside Military moved into the rankings at ninth.
