Top-ranked Westlake dropped to No. 3 after a 76-75 defeat to Tri-Cities, its first in-state loss of the season. Wheeler takes over No. 1 in Class AAAAAA and Tift County slides up to No. 2, in front of the Lions. Hillgrove beat McEachern 67-51 this weekend and take over No. 5, while the Indians dropped three spots to No. 10 after the 16-point region loss.
In Class AAAAA, Allatoona remains No. 1, despite its first loss of the season, which came to Iroquois (Ky.) 50-49. Also, 18-4 Villa Rica debuts in Class AAAAA at No. 10.
In Class AAAA, Rutland dropped two slots to No. 8 after an 89-86 loss to Westside-Macon on Friday. Eastside is the new No. 6 in Class AAAA, and the 18-2 Eagles topped Alcovy 101-23 on Saturday. No. 8 Sandy Creek lost to LaGrange 56-54 and fell out of the top 10. An 18-4 Glenn Hills team replaces the Patriots in the poll and checks in at No. 7.
No. 6 Buford grabbed a 57-55 win over Dawson County and a 69-58 win over No. 5 Morgan County this past weekend. The Wolves’ win over Morgan County moves them into the top 5 and drops Morgan County one spot to No. 6. Also in Class AAA, Woodward Academy reenters the poll and replaces No. 10 Cedar Grove after the Saints’ 57-39 loss to No. 7 Blessed Trinity.
In Class AA and Class A, the poll remained the same as no ranked teams suffered losses this past week.
