Eagles defeated by East Paulding; will take on Harrison Friday

The football team was looking to get its second win of the season when the Eagles faced East Paulding last Friday. South Cobb got the scoring started in the first quarter with a Juan Henao 13-yard field goal but the Raiders were able to answer and take the lead with a Jesse Groover 15-yard touchdown run. After that, it was all Raiders, as they scored 28 unanswered points and went on to win 41-10. Despite the loss, the Eagles did a good job running the ball, totaling 124 yards in the loss. Chris Awuah had the majority of the yards with 67, while Jeremiah Whiting had 28 and Ra’Shean Delk added 26. The Eagles will try to bounce back on Friday when they take on Harrison. … The softball team had two rough games last week, losing to Woodstock 5-1 and Alexander 16-1. The Eagles will face Campbell on Wednesday. … The volleyball team lost to Sprayberry last week, getting swept in two games. The Eagles will try to bounce back against Kennesaw Mountain, Marietta and East Paulding on Tuesday.
