Final girls soccer rankings

The GHSA soccer season came to an end over the weekend as eight champions were crowned at McEachern in Powder Springs and Mercer University in Macon.

In the state’s highest class, North Gwinnett won its second girls soccer title after a 2-1 victory over Lambert in the title match. Lambert finishes the season ranked second. Parkview lost to North Gwinnett 3-2 in the semifinals to finish third. Brookwood dropped a 3-0 contest to Lambert in the semis to finish fourth. Hillgrove finishes fifth after losing 3-0 to Lambert in the quarterfinals.

Dacula won its first girls soccer title after a 2-0 victory over Harrison in the title match. Harrison finishes second. Johns Creek, which lost 2-1 to Harrison in the semis, finished third. Heritage-Conyers, which lost a 6-0 contest to Dacula in the semis, is fourth. Houston County lost to Harrison 4-2 in the quarterfinals to finish fifth.

McIntosh won its 12th girls soccer title after a 7-0 victory over Whitewater in the AAAAA title match. Whitewater finishes the season ranked second. Carrollton, which lost to Whitewater 2-1 in the semifinals, finished third. Decatur lost to McIntosh 4-1 in the quarterfinals to finish fourth. Riverwood won a 2-1 contest against Warner Robins in the quarterfinals to finish fifth.

St. Pius X won its 12th girls soccer title after a 6-0 victory over Flowery Branch in the AAAA title match. Since 2009, Pius has won nine titles and only missed out in 2012 and 2018. Flowery Branch finished second. Blessed Trinity is third, Columbus is fourth and Marist rounds out the top 5.

Westminster added a 13th soccer title after a 3-1 victory over rival Lovett in the AAA title match. The victory marked the fifth-consecutive title for the Wildcats. Lovett finishes the season ranked No. 2. Greater Atlanta Christian is third ahead of Pike County and Jefferson.

In Class AA, St. Vincent’s earned its third-straight girls title after a 5-0 victory over Vidalia in the title match. Vidalia finished second ahead of Bremen, Model and Lamar County.

Wesleyan won its second girls soccer title after a 3-1 victory over Pinecrest Academy in the A-Private title match. Pinecrest finishes second. Athens Academy, First Presbyterian Day and Holy Innocents’ round out the top 5. In Class A-Public, ACE Charter won its first-ever girls soccer title after a 2-0 victory over Atlanta Classical in the title match.
