Football falls to 1-6, will face Centennial on Friday

The football team fell to Pope 42-28 on Oct. 10 and to Kell 24-10 last Friday. Kell was led by running back Brian Randolph, who carried 11 times for 116 yards and one touchdown. Cal Petit kicked a 24-yard field goal for the Spartans late in the first quarter. After falling behind 14-3 in the second quarter, the Spartans drove 56 yards on seven plays to cut the Kell lead to four points. Quarterback Tay Wright scored the touchdown on a 1-yard keeper. The scoring drive was keyed by a 39-yard pass from Wright to Javian Smith. The Spartans are 1-6 and have only three games left on the season to crank out a few wins. Campbell travels to Roswell this Friday to face Centennial, whose only win this season came out of the region against Northview in the season opener. … The volleyball team ended its season this past Saturday with a loss to Kell.  Earlier in the week the team defeated Wheeler but lost to Pope. The girls finished 17-22 on the season.
