Tuesday spring scores

Buford’s Evan Place put the ball in play during the bottom of the seventh to score the winning run. The Wolves bested the Falcons 3-2 in game one of their class 5A semifinal series. In game two, Grant James’ RBI single in the top of the seventh helped seal the 1-0 victory the Wolves needed to advance to the finals. Jefferson swept a strong Blessed Trinity with scores of 10-7 and 2-0. This will be the Dragons second trip the finals since 2015, where they’ll try to take home their first ever state title against Cartersville. Mill Creek bested Brookwood 5-2 in game 3 of their series to advance to the class 7A championship. They’ll be met by Parkview, who defeated Woodstock 6-1 in game 3 of their series. The Blessed Trinity boys and girls both defeated Kell with scores of 10-9 and 10-6 respectively. The boys will face off against Greater Atlanta Christian in the class A-5A championship, while the girls will go up against Starr’s Mill. Two close games between Prince Avenue and Holy Innocents’, 9-8 and 3-2, resulted in a split series and the need for a game 3.
